Dennis M. Hart is a
criminal defense

years of experience.
During that time he
has participated in

the Washington D.C.
area and elsewhere.
He has defended

political corruption
to federal
racketeering
homicides.
Mr.
Hart has served as
lead counsel or
co-counsel in
numerous Federal
criminal
prosecutions that
have been designated
as extended and
complex by trial and
appellate courts. He
has presented cases
before a majority of
the Federal Courts
of Appeals as well
as a number of state
appellate courts. In
addition, he has
appeared before the
United States
Supreme Court in
criminal cases on
two occasions.
In
the course of his
appellate work, he
has served as lead
counsel in hundreds
of criminal and
civil appeals to
both federal and
state courts. He has
participated in
dozens of noteworthy
cases whose
significant and
unique legal issues
have generated over
70 published
appellate decisions.
His work has also
included the
investigation and
trial preparation
for international
terrorism
proceedings in
Europe as well as
Federal death
penalty work in the
United States.
In
addition to
courtroom
representation, Mr.
Hart represents
individuals and
corporations in a
variety of
pre-indictment
circumstances,
including pre-grand
jury investigations;
internal corporate
investigations;
grand jury
representations and
negotiations and
legislative
committee
investigations.
Mr.
Hart’s litigation
experience in the
criminal trial and
appellate areas has
been supplemented
with his involvement
in complex civil
litigation that
ranges from toxic
tort cases to
corporate civil
fraud allegations
involving high
volume document
discovery and
analysis. He is
